Allport Heathrow host Masters

As part of their 1st year syllabus MA Logistics students from the University of Greenwich recently visited Allport's flagship freight centre at Heathrow, to learn about the role of the freight forwarder.

MA Students

The student's afternoon visit was split into three parts comprising:

  • A supply chain game to demonstrate, in a fun way, how the forwarder intercedes along the critical path
  • An exploration of Allport using 'zones' and props to demonstrate the services provided to a range of clients
  • A tour of the air facility, to find out how 6 million kilos are processed each month and the operation of a ¼ million piece garment handling area
  • "Just want to thank you and your colleagues again for the well organized learning process that you gave our students. It was very impressive and more importantly, our students felt it was extremely helpful having an experience like this."
