Founded nearly fifty years ago Allport has grown consistently and is now one of the largest forwarders in the UK.

A key success factor has been market leading air freight, sea freight and supply chain management services from China to the UK.

As UK imports have increased Allport's freight volumes have, almost consistently, risen year on year since the 1980's providing the engine room for the growth of the business over the last three decades.

In 1990 Allport invested in and started working with CS Logistics Holdings Limited, the parent company of Cargo Services Far East Limited and subsequently formed the highly successful NVOCC service, Far East Cargo Line.

Recognising the shared values and synergies between Allport and CS Logistics Holdings Limited, the main board of Allport have decided that a merger with CS Logistics Holdings Limited provides the greatest opportunity to build on combined strengths and to support Allport through the next exciting phase of growth, for four critical reasons:

  • Allport main board succession has been completed alongside the creation of a rock solid financial platform.
  • Allport will continue to function in exactly the same way, which means that relationships with stakeholders - customers, partners, employees - remain unaffected.
  • Allport's unique values and ethos remain intact and the business will continue to operate under the Allport brand in the UK.
  • Allport and CS Logistics Holdings Limited will develop a consistent international presence for 30 international investments, under the Allport Cargo Services branding.

The Allport board will remain intact, with only John Clayton fully retiring and there will be no changes to the way the company operates.

Derek Davis and Danny Toye will take on non-executive roles, giving way to Chris Cargill and Jerry Gray who, after 40 and 36 years service, will take Allport forward as Group and Deputy Group Managing Director.

Allport will continue to operate under our own brand in the UK - maintaining the established and unique Allport culture and staff retention that has been so valued over the past forty years.
