LIMA Suite4 Upgrade

LIMA logo

January 2007 saw the final roll out of the upgrade of the LIMA system to Suite4.

Enhancements have been introduced in response to feedback from clients and Origin partners, whose views are seen as a vital part of the develoment process.

Amongst the many new features in Suite4:

  • Enhanced validation of data. Business rules ensure sailing dates and arrival dates as well as minimum and maximum container volume fills for sea freight shipments are valid and/or within tolerance.
  • On-screen container load planning function for origin partners, to allow advanced loading intention to be given to clients and minimum loading requirements to be built into the auto-authority process.
  • KPI metrics built into origin updating modules for capturing reasons for early/late bookings, documents or onboard advices to generate quick and accurate supplier and origin performance measurement.
  • New document management tools to track despatch and receipt of, as well as attach, shipping documents and control late/required documents by source participant (bank, agent, supplier, etc.)

In addition to these new features, from February 2007 onwards Allport SCM will be rolling out a new "Dashboard" critical path alert facility to all clients.

The Dashboard will be tailored to the requirements of each User Group, targeting critical events that are of specific concern. Users will have visibility of their workflow and, most importantly, of the "hot spots" in their supply chain as soon as they log onto LIMA. Critical late items are highlighted in red and users can drill down into the detail in order to take action. All data is viewed in real time.

The Dashboard is a powerful addition to the range of critical path and exception management tools within the LIMA Suite4 system.

LIMA is Allport's logistics information management application and is available exclusively to clients who use Allport's supply chain management services.
