Following discussions with the Trade, Customs have confirmed that they will allow a three month trial period, prior to going live, during which both old and new type entries will be accepted. However their intended July/September target dates cannot now be be met and it is likely to be extended to January 2008.
This flexible implementation will minimise service level disruptions and should lead to a seamless transition in most cases.
One critical requirement of the SAD-Harmonisation is detailed outer packaging details. We would recommend that you instruct your suppliers to provide this information on their paperwork.

HMRC have made the "draft" questionnaires and explanatory notes available on their website.
These 'May' drafts are considered to be very close to the final version and Customs are advising applicants to use them in preparation for their application.
Allport are working towards AEO status at the earliest opportunity and will be in a strong position to assist our clients with their applications.
